Tell us where you got stuck.
Start with the common fixes below. If you still need help, email or call us and we will help you work through the account, tag, or workspace issue.
Contact the service company on the tag.
Tech Was Here support helps with account access, QR tags, and the private workspace. We do not schedule or dispatch equipment repairs. Scan the equipment tag and use Request service, or call the service company shown on that equipment page.
Try these steps first.
Open the question that matches what you see. The exact screen wording is useful when you contact us.
I cannot sign in or finish account setup
Make sure you are using the email address your company added to its Tech Was Here team. If you received a private setup QR, scan it with the phone's normal Camera app, confirm your name, and finish creating your passkey or password. The private setup QR works once and should not be shared with another person.
If your setup code was already used, the name is wrong, or you no longer have access to the email address on the account, contact support. Do not create a second account to work around the problem.
My phone will not scan the QR service tag
Open the phone's regular Camera app. Wipe the camera lens, use better light, hold the phone steady, and make sure the full QR code is inside the camera view. Moving the phone slightly farther away often works better than zooming in. Tap the website banner when it appears.
Tech Was Here does not have a separate scanner app. If the printed code is scratched, covered, peeling, or still will not scan from more than one phone, contact support before placing a replacement tag.
The tag shows the wrong company, is unavailable, or says access denied
Stop before claiming or moving the tag. Confirm that you are signed in with your own team account and that the company name shown on screen is yours. Do not scan a different tag to bypass an access message and do not place one tag over another.
Send support the exact wording on the screen and the short code shown for the tag. Do not send your password, private setup code, or a full customer record.
I need help placing or claiming a new tag
One tag should identify one physical unit. Use a clean, dry, stable surface that stays with the equipment. Never cover a manufacturer nameplate, serial number, warning label, control, vent, fastener, access door, or routine service panel.
After placing the tag, scan it while signed in and complete the customer, service address, equipment, and private-note fields. Wait for the success screen, preview the homeowner page, and scan the physical tag again before leaving. See the detailed placement guide or open the printable setup guide.
The customer or equipment information is wrong
Open the equipment record in the private team workspace and correct the equipment name, location, manufacturer, model, serial number, customer, service address, or private notes. Then scan the physical tag again and confirm the homeowner page identifies the correct unit and service company.
Do not create a duplicate equipment record or attach a second tag just to fix written information. If the tag was claimed to the wrong physical unit and you are unsure how to correct it, contact support before changing anything else.
A homeowner cannot request service or the request is missing
First scan the tag and confirm that the correct equipment page opens. The homeowner should choose a request reason, enter enough detail to describe the problem, and submit the form. No homeowner account or app is required.
Check Service requests in the private workspace and refresh the page. A request can be safely stored even when an email notification is delayed. If it is still missing, send support the company name, tag short code, approximate submission time, and the error shown. Do not email private technician notes or unnecessary customer details.
A reminder or notification email did not arrive
Confirm the recipient email is spelled correctly, check spam or junk, and review the notification or reminder status in the private workspace. Also confirm that the customer has not unsubscribed from reminders for that equipment.
If the workspace shows failed, unavailable, or delivery unconfirmed, contact support with the equipment name, approximate send time, and the status shown. A submitted email is not the same as a confirmed delivery, so the status wording matters.
I need to add a technician, replace a damaged tag, or ask about billing
Owners and administrators can manage individual technician access from Team access. Do not share one person's login with another technician. For a damaged tag, contact support so the equipment record and service history can stay connected while the old tag is retired.
For subscription, tag allowance, additional tag packs, or billing questions, include the company name and a short description of what you need. Never send a password or full payment-card number by email.
We are ready to help.
Include your name, company name, the page you were using, the exact message on screen, and the tag short code when the problem involves a QR service tag. A screenshot is helpful if it does not expose private customer information.
Never send your password, passkey, private account-setup code, full payment-card number, or unnecessary customer details.
